Admission forms available from Aug 6The Application forms for admission to the state-owned intermediate institutions in Karachi would be available at 31 branches of the Habib Bank from Aug 6. The students must submit the filled out forms at the same bank branches on or before Aug 21.
This was decided by the Centralized Admission Committee of the Directorate of Colleges during a meeting, which was held last week under the chairmanship of the Director of Colleges.
The officials attending the meeting decided that the students passing this year's annual and supplementary examinations of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) would be eligible to apply. The Students passing the last year's annual examinations would be given a chance to apply only under special circumstances.
The Students passing the examination with D-Grade marks would be offered seats in the evening colleges only. However, they might be offered admissions to the morning-shift humanities colleges in case seats are available.
The officials attending the meeting decided that ten information centers be established for students and their parents. Five of these centers would be established in the male colleges and five in the female colleges.
The names of the institutions where these centers would be set up are : DJ Sindh Science College; Adamjee Science College; College for Men,Nazimabad; Superior Science College; National College; St Joseph's College; Sir Syed College; Khursheed Girls College; Khatoon-i-Pakistan College & APWA Girls Colleges.
